Traktor S4 Drivers Windows 10
- Hello,Got my brand new MBA 2013 last week. Installed everything and tried it out, worked fine. Went to a gig, played like45 min and then BAM, my S4 dies and the dance floor gets quiet, highly embarrassing. Luckily I had my emergency laptop with me so I was up and running again within 30 seconds. To the problem. I have researched this problem thoroughly at home now and came to a conclusion. What happened exactly was that the S4 lost its USB connection. Traktor pauses and the only light left on the S4 is the flashing USB symbol, which means no USB connection. When this has happened the USB ports on my MBA is completely dead. I can’t connect anything to the computer, not even a simple USB drive. As soon as the computer is restarted everything works fine again. I can transfer large files to my USB 3.0 drive without any problem. As soon as I connect my S4 and starts to play I get roughly 20-50 minutes before it dies.I’ve searched the Internet and I’m not the only one that has this problem. http://www.native-instruments.com/forum/showthread.php?200896-MacBook-Air-mid-2013-amp-Kontrol-S4-USB-dropout!I haven’t contacted NI since it seems that they know about it already and only sends you an automatic answer. Are there anyone here that has this problem and maybe even a solution? I have tried an older driver, that didn’t work. I haven’t tried to run the S4 without the power adapter, will do that when I get home.RegardsOh ok, i had heard USB3 can be a problem. I’ll shut up now then, and let a more knowledgable person take over.It is USB 3. I had the same issues with 3 laptops (MacBook Air 2013, Dell XPS 12 Convertible, HP EliteBook 6950p).
Funny enough works in Serato, but Traktor gives me the problem with the S4. Only solution is to connect a POWERED (aka with a power cord) USB 2.0 Hub to the port and run your controller from there.Again some USB 3 ports work others do not. It is a USB 3 problem. For example the XPS 12 did not work, the XPS 13 did… and the workaround I suggested did work.Probably has to do with the actual USB port hardware. Chipset manufacturers vary which may lead to different behaviour.Just out of curiosity which version of OS X 10.8 are you running? 10.8.5 being the latest… also, have you yet tried the Traktor Kontrol S4 Driver 2.5.3 for Mac? There’s so many threads on this subject at the NI Forums it’s difficult to tell what’s working for whom – some people imply the problem was ‘fixed’ in 10.8.5 and others not.I have the latest Traktor Pro and drivers installed.
For Macs I have still 10.8.4 on it, but I do not think that matters, will upgrade to 10.8.5 prolly today. - Posts
